Finnish startup Sofi Filtration raises $3.5 million

Finland-based Sofi Filtration, the provider of innovative industrial water filtration technology, has closed a $3.5 million funding round. The round was led by Emerald Technology Ventures –  a globally recognized investment firm with participation from Voima Ventures – a deep tech fund that invests purely in start-ups with deep tech and scientific backgrounds. Along with the first transaction, a secondary transaction was conducted with selected investors, including Loudspring.

Founded in 2011 by Technical Advisor Pertti Rantala, Process Advisor Simo Aho, and  CEO Ville Hakala, Sofi Filtration is a provider of innovative industrial water filtration technology. The raised funds will allow the startup to accelerate its market potential. To date, the company’s team has over 40 combined years of experience in heavy industry water treatment processes, such as the minerals processing industry.
