French cloud sector startup Koyeb raises $1.6 million

Koyeb, the fastest platform to deploy and run serverless data processing apps, has raised $1.6 million in a pre-seed round. This round was led by Jean-David Chamboredon and Juliette Mopin from ISAI, with participation from more than 250 tech entrepreneurs, such as Marc Jalabert (Former General Manager Microsoft), Dominique Vidal, (Partner at Index Ventures and former Managing Director of Yahoo Europe), Alexis Lê-Quôc, (Co-Founder and CTO of Datadog) and others.

Founded in 2019 by CPO Édouard Bonlieu, CEO Yann Léger, and CTO Bastien Chatelard, Koyeb is the first Cloud Platform dedicated to data management and optimization across multiple Cloud Service Providers. Koyeb is aimed to remove operational complexity with flexible serverless technology designed for multi-cloud environments. The company provides strong primitives for data processing with a focus on the developer experience. 

The startup wants to use the raised funds to structure the core team and support its growing community. Also, the investment will allow them to build a strong foundation in the upcoming year to address business users’ needs. To date, Koyeb supports many different storage providers, such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Wasabi, Backblaze B2 as well as object storage products from DigitalOcean, Linode, Scaleway, Vultr, etc.
