Estonian cloud security startup BotGuard closes its seed funding

Tallinn-based BotGuard, a cloud-driven platform for website security, has closed its seed funding round and hit a company valuation of $6 million, Tech.EU reports

Founded in 2019 by Nik Rozenberg and Denis Prochko, BotGuard provides a service to protect websites against malicious bots, crawlers, scrapers, and hacker attacks. The service selectively blocks bad bot traffic in real-time. To protect businesses from hackers, spammers, content thieves, and competitors, the company offers 3 levels of defense: firewall, bots blocking, and content copy prevention.

The startup estimates that there are about 300 million actively updated websites today and BotGuard’s goal for 2021 is to integrate with 15 percent of them.
