Telemedico nabs €5.5M to expand its global footprint

Polish startup Telemedico has closed a €5.5 million Series A round. It was led by Flashpoint Venture Capital, Uniqa Ventures, PKO VC, Black Pearls VC and Adamed, TechCrunch writes.

Telemedico is one of the largest providers of telemedicine in Europe. Since 2017, when it launched its B2B model, the startup has been delivering customized digital health solutions, which include consultations with a doctor via chat, video or phone, AI-triaging and coordination among others, for insurers, assistance companies, employers, medical entities, pharmaceutical companies, and as part of national healthcare systems.

According to TechCrunch, one million consultations were carried out through Telemedico’s platform for the last 12 months. As Pawel Sieczkiewicz, co-founder and CEO, maintained, the startup is aimed to increase the number of monthly sessions to 250,000 by the end of 2021.

The new round will allow the startup to expand internationally: “We aim to increase our presence on the markets where we are already active: Spain, Russia, Portugal, Turkey, and launch on new markets, with new languages — mainly EU Countries, like France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Romania,” Sieczkiewicz said.

Currently, Telemedico is available on 14 markets and supports 10 languages.
