How many IT professionals in Ukraine: +29K private entrepreneurs working in IT over last year

In Ukraine, IT companies mainly hire specialists as regular employees, but work with them as private entrepreneurs. In fact, they are contractors who provide their services to companies under an agreement. At the same time, IT professionals registered as the private entrepreneurs pay taxes on their own in the amount of 5% of income (salary). The magazine DOU compiled statistics on the private entrepreneurs working in the IT idustry (hereinafter: IT-PEs) based on data from the Ministry of Justice. AIN.UA selected the key figures.

Over the last year, their number increased by 29,111 people (16%).

The most popular KVED (type of economic activity) among IT-PEs remains 62.01 Computer Programming – this code is listed as the main type of activity for 143,549 people. During the year, 19,500 people registered this code as their type of economic activity.

The second and third most popular KVEDs are 62.02 Computer consultancy activities and 63.11 Data processing activities with 30.6 and 25.9 thousand IT specialists, respectively.

The largest number of IT-PEs is in Kyiv and Kyiv region. The top 5 regions are traditionally Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa.
