Vladyslav Chechotkin, Rozetka founder: “We consider the IPO as an option for development”

The Ukrainian marketplace Rozetka is currently discussing different ways of its development; an IPO is also an option.

Vladyslav Chechotkin answered AIN.UA during the Novoe Vremia Prize called “Ukraine and the World 2022” if the company will initiate the IPO:

“We consider the IPO as an option, but it is only one of many,” the Rozetka founder said.

He also mentioned that after a minor stakeholder — Horizon Capital — entered the company in 2015, Rozetka is audited every year by one of the Big Four (Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG).

“We refine our routines and build a business that we can present in the future for public offering,” said Chechotkin.

According to him, Rozetka wants to get 10% of the retail market in Ukraine, about $6 to 8 billion, and there is a “long-long way” to achieve it.

Why is it interesting?

As AIN.UA stated, the acquisition of Rozetka is the main target of the biggest Kazakhstan fintech project, Kaspi.kz, in Ukraine. If the company is ready for the IPO, it can always accept the proposal of M&A, and full compliance will turn in a bonus in addition to the deal amount.
