CallPage, a Poland-based startup founded by Ukrainians, acquired by SaaS Labs

The Polish startup CallPage has been taken over by the US company SaaS Labs, as announced by the startup’s co-founder Ross Knap. The parties have not revealed the financial terms of the deal.

SaaS Labs is a US-Indian startup that builds high-impact communication, workflow, and productivity tools for sales and support teams. The company is funded by venture capital giants such as Sequoia, 10 Partners, and Eight Roads Ventures. Thus, the Polish startup will continue its overseas expansion and gain the position of a world leader in the field of automated call response solutions under the umbrella of its international partner.

“After we started making a profit in 2021, we couldn’t even imagine a better partner for further growth and expansion,” Ross Knap wrote on his LinkedIn page.

About CallPage

CallPage is a widget embedded on a website that helps a company quickly contact a client and trade over the phone. It was founded in 2015 by three Ukrainians: Ross Knap, Andrey Tkachiv, and Sergey Butko, who moved from Ukraine to Poland at different times and for different reasons. The startup has raised a total of $6.7 million in investments.

Over 1,000 large and medium-sized companies from various industries use CallPage’s services. The company cooperates with UPC, Docplanner, Inpost, Medicover, and other brands worldwide. The company has won many awards in prestigious competitions such as UPC Think Big, Aulery, and Eagle of Innovation. Ross Knap, CEO and co-founder of the company, has been featured on Forbes’ 30 under 30 lists three times.

The only co-founder, who continues to work at the startup, is Ross Knap. Andrey Tkachiv now lives in Bali and is engaged in crypto-trading, and Sergey Butko is developing the edutech startup Certifier.

Deal details

In 2021, CallPage began to be profitable, but according to Knap, the company’s growth rate did not allow it to scale quickly without raising additional funding, so there was a question of whether to raise a new round or do an exit.

The company’s board and I agreed that a lot of work had been done, so we could consider not only funding but also was open to selling the company. Then SaaS Labs noticed us, and there was immediate chemistry between us!” shared Knap.

He does not disclose figures, but he says all CallPage option holders were happy with the deal. The company currently employs about 25 people, including quite a few Ukrainians.

Ross will stay at SaaS Labs for at least a year. He will integrate CallPage into the SaaS Labs ecosystem and develop the European office.

“We plan to develop the team, invest a lot in skills, and double or even triple our staff in Poland alone. SaaS Labs has offices in the US, India, France and has recently appeared in Poland. So, for those who want international experience with the ability to relocate, this is the perfect place,” Knap told AIN.UA in a comment.
