Hotels.com to cease all operations in Ukraine from 1 April 2022

Social media users have been posting screenshots of emails from Hotels.com, in which the company announces the cessation of its operations in Ukraine. Hotels.com also informs that the service does not accept bookings for dates after March 13, 2022.

Shutting down Ukrainian Hotels.com

The service has notified its users that all Hotels.com accounts in Ukraine will be terminated on April 1, 2022.

“Since you are a user of Hotels.com, we want to inform you that we will terminate all travel accounts registered with Hotels.com in Ukraine on April 1, 2022. We are sorry for this unexpected news,” the service says in the letter.

However, all reservations made at the time of notification will remain valid, but users will only be able to change them until March 31, 2022. They can also create a new reservation, but with check out before March 31.

“If you have a reservation on Hotels.com, you can still proceed with the reservation. If you need to make any changes, we ask you to do so by March 31, 2022. Due to the shutdown, you will not be able to change your reservations via the website or mobile app after March 31, 2022. If you need help with your reservations after that date, please reach us at the number listed below,” Hotels.com informs.

Along with the shutdown in Ukraine, the service has also left the Russian market. AIN.UA journalists sent a request to Hotels.com to find out the reasons for this decision. But at the time of publication, they have not received a response.
