To capture Luhansk region till June 26

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian troops have been given a clear order: by June 26, the Russian army must occupy the Luhansk region according to its administrative borders. The point is, in fact, to fully capture Severodonetsk.

Currently, Russia controls 95% of the Luhansk region, including most of the city of Severodonetsk, where there are street fights. At the same time, Russia destroyed all the bridges that crossed the Seversky Donets River, which greatly complicated the supply of the Ukrainian army. As well as its possible retreat. At the same time, Ukraine assures that the second Mariupol will not happen again and the situation is under control. In particular, Ukrainian soldiers will be able to retreat, having cover from Lysychansk: this city is higher, and therefore has a strategic advantage.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Defense, right now Russia is concentrating all its forces in this direction, as well as increasing the frequency of artillery and air shelling. The city itself is almost destroyed, although there are still civilians. Their evacuation has long been impossible due to the danger and complexity of logistics.

For Ukraine, the defense of Severodonetsk is expensive: due to the significant advantage of Russian troops in technology – the losses among the Ukrainian army are significant. At the same time, Ukraine has been managing to hold back the offensive in this particular direction for more than a month. However, it is too early to talk about any “success”: to the north and south, the Russian army in Severodonetsk has small breakthroughs and the threat of taking Severodonetsk into the ring still exists.

In Ukraine, it is expected that the heaviest battles for the Luhansk region can happen this week.

Airstrike, missile and MRL damage

Kharkiv region:

• There was shelling with cluster munitions. 7 residential houses were damaged.
• Russian troops carried out a missile attack on the territory of a utility company in the city of Pervomaiskyi. As a result of the impact, buildings were damaged, 3 people were injured
• During the day, Russian troops shelled Ruska Lozova and Tsyrkuny, Derhachi in Lozova district. 2 people were injured, 1 of them died in the hospital.
• Russian troops launched a missile attack on an agricultural enterprise in the Zolochiv community at night. One of the buildings of the enterprise was destroyed.
• In the afternoon, Russian troops launched a missile attack on an industrial enterprise in the Industrialnyi district. The missile damaged the production facility.
• Russian troops launched several missiles on a gas processing plant in the Izium district. The impact caused a fire, and a number of houses were damaged.

Sumy region:

• Russian troops shelled the border territory of Khotin’ community in Sumy district  from mortars from the territory of the Russian Federation. 30 explosions were recorded. 
• Two UAVs flew from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of the Krasnopillya community Sumy district at ~15:00, one was shot down by air defense, the second one dropped an explosive device onto the border area.

At ~19:00 Russian soldiers fired mortars at the territory of the Krasnopillya community. 24 explosions were recorded.

At ~19:30, Russian soldiers shelled the border areas of Myropillya community Sumy district from mortars and artillery. 40 explosions were recorded, of which: 12 explosions were 120mm caliber mines, 15 explosions were 122mm caliber shells, 13 explosions were 152mm caliber shells.

At ~20:00, Russian troops shelled the border areas of the Krasnopillya community using Grad MLRS from the territory of the Russian Federation. 80 explosions were recorded. As a result of the shelling, civilian infrastructure and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Zaporizhzhya region:

• One missile was shot down by the air defense forces of Ukraine.
• Orichiv civilian infrastructure was shelled. Temyrivka, Kamyanske, Hylaypilske, Novodanylivka were shelled from the MLRS Grad. Zaliznychne was shelled from MLRS Hurricane. Hulaypilske was shelled from tanks.
• A dozen private houses and 1 multi-storey building were shelled by the Russian troops from heavy artillery. 4 shops and a post office were also shelled.
• Civilian infrastructure of Chervone, Novodanylivka, Hulaipole was shelled by Russian troops. During the day, 54 reports about the destruction of houses, apartments and civilian infrastructure were received.

Luhansk region:

• The Russian army shelled the settlements of Severodonetsk, Lysychansk from cannon artillery, MLRS and mortars. Ustynivka, Synetskyi, Metolkine, Hirske, Mykolaivka, Bilohorivka, Voronove, Zolote, Troitske were also shelled. As a result of shelling in Severodonetsk, the transport shop of the Azot plant was damaged, in Lysychansk massive shelling of residential areas near the Donsoda plant was carried out. A number of destructions were recorded: in Hirske – 13 houses were damaged, in Vrubiivka – 14 houses, incl. 3 two-story apartment buildings. In addition, the Russian army used army aviation in the area of ​​​​Syrotyne and Borivske. There is information about 1 wounded person in Severodonetsk, as well as 4 wounded people in Lysychansk.
• Russian troops shelled the settlements of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk from artillery, MLRS and mortars. Ustynivka, Borivske, Bilohorivka, Metolkine, Hirske, Mykolaivka, Bila Hora were also shelled. Air strikes were carried out in the area of Bila Hora, Myrna Dolyna. A missile strike was recorded in the Verkhnokamianka area. As a result of shelling in Severodonetsk, the checkpoint and treatment facilities of the Azot plant were damaged, a number of residential buildings were destroyed: 16 buildings – in Novoivanivka, 9 – in Mykolaivka, 6 – in Nyrkove. 2 dead people in Lysychansk and 11 wounded people in Severodonetsk were recorded.

• One missile was shot down by the Ukrainian Air defense forces over Vyshhorod district, another missile was shot down over the territory of Bucha community.

• Air defense forces of Ukraine shot down two Onyx cruise missiles launched by Russian troops from a coastal missile system from the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

• 6 missiles launched by russian troops hit the Kremenchuk Oil Refinery, 2 missiles hit the thermal power plant.

• Russian troops shelled the area of Blahodatne settlement.
• Pravydne, Posad-Pokrovske, Blahodatne were shelled by russian troops.

Mykolaiv region:

• Russian troops shelled the border territory of Khotin’ community in Sumy district  from mortars from the territory of the Russian Federation. 30 explosions were recorded. 
• Russian troops shelled the Shyrokivska and Bereznehuvatska communities.
• During the day, Russian troops shelled the Lymany settlement in Halyntsivska community. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out, garages, outbuildings and dry grass burned.

At the end of the day, 22 people were injured in the region.

• Russian troops launched Kh-55 missiles on the industrial infrastructure of the city during the day. In the evening they struck with five Kalibr missiles from the Kherson region. 2 missiles hit a plastic window factory, 1 – a sausage shop and 1 – a residential building. As a result of the shelling in the workshop and at the plant, fire broke out in a total area of ​​approximately 400 sq.m.

The children’s judo club “Cosmos” was also shelled.

Donetsk region:

• Russian troops shelled Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Krasnohorivka, Ocheretyne, New-York, Zhelanne, Netailove, Novoselivka 1, Orlivka, Panteleimonivka, Komyshivka, Nelipivka.

In Avdiivka, the Russian army inflicted 5 strikes on the residential sector and the coke plant. 21 residential buildings, a school, a cultural center, a utility company, 3 factories, and a psycho-neurological boarding school were damaged.

According to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, 4 people were killed: 2 – in Panteleymonivka, 1 – in Bakhmut and 1 – in Krasnogorovka. 6 people were injured.

Dnipropetrovsk region:

• There was shelling of the Apostolove community conducted by russian troops, no casualties or destruction were recorded. They also fired on the Zelenodolsk community, where a tractor was damaged.
• 3 missiles hit the oil depot. Due to shelling, a fire broke out, tanks with fuel oil and fuel burned. 14 people were injured, 7 of them are in the hospital. 2 people died – a rescuer and an employee of the tank farm. On June 19, a fuel tank exploded due to an ongoing fire. On June 20, rescuers continued to extinguish the fire.
