Finnish gaming company BIT ODD secures €5M from Index Ventures

BIT ODD, a Finnish mobile gaming company, has secured  €5 million in a seed round from Index Ventures. The company will use the funding to enhance the mobile gaming industry.

  • Founded in 2019 by Lasse Louhento, Jani Lintunen, and Taneli Oksama, BIT ODD is a game developer based in Helsinki. Its founders are the lead creatives behind Supercell’s hit games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. The company’s prime goal is to make mobile gaming exciting again.

“BIT ODD have assembled a first-class team and possess a clear vision that sets them apart from the pack. Their sense of quirkiness, fun, and creativity taps into something that’s fallen out of focus in gaming,”

Sofia Dolfe from Index Ventures on the startup.
  • Index Ventures led this seed round. It is a European venture capital firm that has backed a lot of successful game developers. The list includes Swedish game developer King, Finnish Supercell, American Roblox, and Dream Games.
  • AIN.Capital had previously covered several investments Index Ventures led, including e-commerce startup Montonio raising €11 million in April 2022 and Printify securing $50 million in September 2021.
  • BIT ODD is planning to use the fresh funding to continue the game development cycle, aiming for its first launch.
