SMOK Ventures invests in Madcore Games, a Polish mobile gamedev

Krakow-based mobile game developer Madcore Games has received an investment from SMOK Ventures. Although the companies do not disclose the amount, the round will help to develop its midcore mobile game, MamStartup reports.

  • Madcore Games was founded in 2022 by veteran developers Ziemowit Rachwał, Oskar Kuligowski, and Paweł Weder. It is a mobile game development studio based in Kraków, Poland. The studio mainly provides gamers with midcore (requiring skill and time to play) action RPG co-op experience. The team prizes itself most on pioneering and data-driven decision making, shared responsibility, as well as craftsmanship.
  • The Polish-American fund SMOK Ventures is the lead investor this round. The early-stage fund has many SaaS, AI, and other tech startups in its portfolio. The most recent investments include a €15 million round for SunRoof, and a €530,000 round for Gaminate.
  • Ludus Ventures, a Turkish VC fund from Istanbul, also attended the investment round. The angel investor Łukasz Adziński, CEO and founder of Picadilla, participated, too.
  • The fresh funding will allow the studio to continue the development of its titles and further grow its team. Currently, the company is looking for a Senior Unity Developer and a Unity Developer, a QA Tester, as well as a Senior 3D Game Artist.
