Austrian software company Pimcore raises $12M in a Series B round

The Salzburg-based software platform Pimcore announced the completion of a $12 million Series B round to fund its global expansion and further development. The round was led by German tech growth fund Nordwind Growth

  • Founded in 2013 by Bernhard Rusch and Dietmar Rietsch, Pimcore is an open-source software platform for managing data and customer experiences for any channel, device, or industry. The platform offers integrating product information, content, and digital asset management, as well as e-commerce functionalities.
  • Since its launch, Pimcore has served 100,000 customers across 56 countries. The company claims that the platform will disrupt the traditionally legacy-driven data and experience management industries, as product information and master data management market segments will grow 14% by 2027.

“All innovation in recent years in areas such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence have happened in open-source ecosystems. It has become the primary engine of innovation around the world. We’re looking forward to extending these capabilities to current and future customers in 2023 and beyond,”

  • The fresh round was led by German-based growth fund Nordwind Growth that invests in companies operating in the business products and services sectors.
  • The fresh funding will allow Pimcore to expand globally, to commercialize the open-source platform and to develop the data and experience management capabilities for enterprises.
