Bulgarian online marketplace for booking caravans Karavani.bg raises €50k

The Sofia-based provider of caravans and other kinds of unusual housing rent Karavani.bg has raised €50,000 to enter into new markets. The round was led by Innovation Capital.

• Founded in 2021 by Nikolay Nekov, Karavani.BG develops an online platform that provides caravans for rent. It’s also guiding users through the process of choosing and reserving a caravan online, along with selecting a good campsite for a trip to the country.
• Currently, Karavani.bg offers over 165 caravans, and also bungalows, campers, tents, and dome houses.
• The fresh funding was led by the Sofia-based VC fund Innovation Capital. The fund focuses on Bulgarian startup companies operating in enterprise software, e-commerce, fintech, edtech, financial services, healthcare, foodtech, security verticals.
• The investment will be used to expand Karavani.bg in the Balkans, to enter the markets in Romania and Greece in 2023, and to increase its opportunities for business-to-business income.
