Finnish startup Statzon raises €400k in a seed round

Lahti-based market intelligence startup Statzon has raised €400,000 during a seed round. It consisted of the equity funding from Gorilla Capital and Sofokus Ventures, and an R&D loan from Business Finland.

  • Founded in 2018 by Kimmo Kuokkanen, Statzon develops a market intelligence platform that provides over 3 million market reports and insights from over 250 curated market research providers. The platform helps to make better strategic plans and decisions with the access to the up-to-date industry data.
  • After a successful launch in the first vertical, the company has scaled its coverage to e-mobility. Now, Statzon has many of the top global automation and robotics companies as its customers, including Mitsubishi Electric, Stäubli, and Schunk.

“We have confidence in the team’s capabilities and their passion to build a world-class business and wanted to join Statzon as an investor. We believe that the new funding will support further growth and enable the platform’s development and expansion,”

Turo Numminen, co-founder of Sofokus Ventures, comments on the deal.
  • The existing investor Gorilla Capital and a new backer Sofokus Ventures provided the equity funding to Statzon. Gorilla Capital is a Finnish venture capital fund investing from €50,000 up to €1.5 million in early-stage startups. Sofokus Group’s Venture Capital investment company actively invests in growth startups with a strong digital business focus.
  • The new funding will be used for global expansion, scaling to new industries as well as product development.
