Lithuanian Contrarian VC joins $15M round for Norwegian climatetech CHOOOSE

The Oslo-based CHOOOSE, a company that delivers a software platform enabling enterprises to integrate climate action, has raised $15 million funding round. The investment was co-led by climate tech-focused investors from Singapore and the US. Lithuanian Contrarian VC also participated.

  • Established in 2017, CHOOOSE develops a SaaS platform that enables enterprises to build, manage, and report on customer-centric climate programs. The startup works with leading aviation, travel, and logistics enterprises such as Air Canada, Booking.com, British Airways, Clarksons, Trip.com, Iberia, SAP Concur, Southwest Airlines, Japan Airlines, Freightos, and LATAM Cargo.

“The need for climate action has never been greater. And now everywhere we look, we see individuals and organizations wanting to factor climate impact into their decision-making, and to support solutions. Getting started can seem daunting, but we know software can make this easier by embedding awareness and access to climate solutions in the right places. This is why we’re building CHOOOSE.”

Andreas Slettvoll, CEO and co-founder of CHOOOSE said.
  • The funding round was co-led by Singapore-based GenZero, a decarbonisation-focused investment company and US SOUNDWaves, a sustainability-focused investment vehicle. Existing investors also participated in this round, including Shell Ventures and Vinyl Capital. Other current investors include Spain Amadeus IT Group and Lithuanian Contrarian VC.
  • The Vilnius-based Contrarian is a seed stage VC for the climate generation, mobilizing resources for climate action in Europe and Israel with a collaborative, hands-on, founders-first approach. Contrarian VC was among four green venture capital and growth equity funds which recently received an investment from Polish fund of funds PFR Ventures under the PFR GreenHub FoF program. The total amount of investment was €55 million.
  • CHOOOSE will spend the fresh round to expand its platform, to support new enterprise sectors, and broaden the portfolio of both immediately available and frontier carbon solutions that are supported on the platform, which currently includes Sustainable Aviation Fuel, carbon removals, and verified offsets.
