Finnish smart mobility startup Lygg raises €3.6M in a seed round

Vantaa-based startup Lygg that provides a platform for operating a fly-MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) business has raised €3.6 million in a seed funding round led by Superhero Capital. The startup plans to use the funds to accelerate growth of its platform.

  • Launched by Roope Kekäläinen and Jari Viinikkala in 2020, Lygg focuses on the amalgamation of various transport modes, including air transportation, electric vehicles, mobile apps, and ride-sharing. By offering its services as a comprehensive solution, the company aims to revolutionize the business flying experience.
  • Over the last year of its activity, Lygg has completed 154 flights to 17 destinations in 12 European countries, including Germany, France, Holland, UK, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia. In addition, Lygg claims that its flight can reduce the carbon footprint of a traveler, thus further reducing a corporation’s travel emissions by up to 75%.
  • The leading investor in this round was Superhero Capital, a Finnish VC seed stage VC investing in insight-driven startups from Finland and the Baltics. In May 2023, the firm co-led €3 million round for local Doublepoint that provides gesture recognition technology.
  • Lygg intends to spend new capital to accelerate its platform growth, as well as to widen its market footprint.
