u.ventures invests in Ukrainian startup Competera during its seed+ round

Ukrainian u.ventures with its head office in Kyiv became an investor in the Ukrainian startup Competera which develops an intelligent price optimization platform for retailers. Competera announced the news on its LinkedIn page.

About Competera

  • Co-founded by Oleksandr Halkin and Oleksandr Sazonov, Competera launched its pricing platform in 2018. It provides retailers with direct access to real-time market data, rule-based automation, and multi-purpose recommendation engines. 
  • The startup has more than 50 customers across 18 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, France and Italy. According to the company, its platform has optimized $60 billion in revenue for retailers in 20 sectors.

Investment details

  • u.ventures is the latest investor in the company during its seed+ round. It is a capital fund established by WNISEF dedicated to supporting early-stage Ukrainian and Moldovan technology startups that demonstrate great potential and are geared towards serving global markets.

The infusion of capital from our recent seed+ round will enable us to augment our AI capabilities, broaden our service offerings, and scale our operations globally. This expansion will enhance our ability to support our retail clients,

Competera’s representatives commented on the deal.
  • The parties do not disclose the amount of the deal. In a commentary to Forbes Ukraine, Bohdan Sviridov, Investment Director of Horizon Capital and u.ventures, said that the fund is the singular investor of this round. According to him, u.ventures’ first check at the seed stage usually ranges from $300,000 to $500,000.

This is the second capital infusion in the startup this year. In January 2024, Competera raised a $3 million investment from STRATMINDS, Flyer One Ventures, Verras Capital, SMRK Fund, and Transform Partners Fund.
