Estonian SensusQ raises €3.8M for its defense intelligence software

The Tallinn-based defense tech SensusQ has raised €3.8 million from the US-based VC firm New North Ventures and angel investors. The investment will enable SensusQ to expand its team and meet growing market demand, according to Tech.eu.

About SensusQ

  • Founded by Marko Kaseleht and Villiko Nurmoja, SensusQ is a defence technology company that can synthesize a large amount of different data and sources into comprehensive information. The solution aims to make information exchange in military units faster and reduce the failure of intelligence cycles.
  • Currently, the startup focuses on the defense industry but plans to expand to other sectors dealing with large amounts of data daily, such as compliance, fraud, risk management, and security. SensusQ also aims to become a leading global IMS provider, participating in at least three major Estonian Defence League trainings annually.

Details of the investment

  • New North Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on dual-use technology that can solve national security and commercial market problems from Manchester led the current round. This marks the first investment in dual-use technology for New North Ventures. Several angel investors also joined it.

The deployment of SensusQ technology in Ukraine has resulted in an increased demand for our intelligence system in allied countries, delivering to which we will be focusing on in the upcoming year. The knowledge and assistance provided by New North Ventures will undoubtedly aid us in fulfilling the increasing demand more efficiently,

Marko Kaseleht, CEO of SensusQ, said in a comment to Tech.eu.
  • The fresh funding round will help SensusQ to grow its workforce and satisfy increasing market demand, while gaining access to the expertise, strategic guidance, and global network provided by its new partners.

This is the second investment for SensusQ this year. In February, the company secured an undisclosed amount of investment from Specialist VC, an Estonian venture capital firm known for backing successful ventures like Bolt, Starship, Veriff, and Salv.
