Finnish startup Lekatech receives investment from Normet Group

The Kausala-based startup Lekatech, which aims to revolutionize different end products in the mining and construction industries, has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Finnish technology company Normet Group. The investment will help the startup accelerate its growth and product commercialization.

  • Lekatech Oy is a Finland-based technology startup founded in 2018. Lekatech develops linear electric technology for hammering applications. Lekatech believes that as the carrier machines transform to electric, direct electric drive is the future in hammering too. In 2021, Lekatech secured €6.3 million in EIC Accelerator funding for the development of the fully electric hammer.
  • Lekatech’s groundbreaking fully electric hammer is up to 60% more efficient than a conventional hydraulic hammer, providing significant energy savings while doubling impact force. A fully electric hammer enables continuous digital development.

“Our goal is to zero out the CO2 emissions of impact hammers used in mining and construction industry,”

Antti Anttila CEO of Lekatech says.
  • The Finland-headquartered company Normet offers continuous improvement to underground construction and mining processes for increased safety, productivity, and profitability. It operates globally in over 50 locations and 30 countries. Normet Group has over 1,600 employers, and the net sales in 2021 were €359 million.
  • Since 2018, Normet has collaborated with Lekatech. It has become a minority shareholder of Lekatech. The fresh investment supports the continued growth of Lekatech and the commercialization of their groundbreaking fully electric hammers.
