For 17 years, Lyubov Marhitai and her family has been taking care of the forest garden and growing various crops there. A year ago, the family founded a company for the production of jam, pastilla, eco snacks, dry soups, tea, and spices from crops grown in the garden.

All six members of Marhitai large family have or are getting an agricultural education. Liubov Marhitai, the head of the family business, is a candidate of biological sciences and has been teaching students of the Uzhhorod National University the peculiarities of soil science, land reclamation, agrochemistry, plant processing and storage technology, organic fruit growing and viticulture for almost two decades. It was during a tour with students to agricultural companies that the woman realized that since most products in stores contain many harmful additives, independent organic cultivation of vegetables and fruits can help take care of the daily diet. So the Marhitay family uses all their knowledge and skills to work in the garden and cultivate the varieties of berries, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs they need.

Every year, the harvest of the garden grew, and when there was more grown than the family needed, it began to create processed products for sale that would retain the maximum useful properties. Liubov Marhitay is especially proud of the pastilla that her family makes:

«It is important not only to grow, but also to process products so that they preserve their biological value. Our pastilla is a healthy food made from fresh, organically grown fruits and berries of Zakarpattia with the addition of natural honey. We dry it at a temperature of 40 °C, thanks to which fruits and berries retain all vitamins and enzymes. The task of our family business today is to make delicious and very useful treats for Ukrainians with our own hands, to develop entrepreneurship in the village of Zakarpattia, and to spread the culture of healthy food»
