Growing vegetables in a greenhouse

Khmelnytskyi region

The Zavorotny family has been growing plants in greenhouses for over 7 years, and now they have started to implement innovative technology into their work — hydroponics.

They started by growing flowers such as alstroemeria, eustoma, and tulips. But the pandemic, quarantine restrictions in the country, and later the war affected the profitability of the work. Having assessed all the risks and prospects of the greenhouse business, Zavorotnyi decided to change the vector of development and switch to vegetable growing.

«The world does not stand still, and neither do we. Communicating with fellow greenhouse workers, producers of fertilizers and seeds, as well as being constantly interested in various novelties in the agricultural sector, we turned our attention to an alternative method of cultivation, namely hydroponics. We take care of our consumers and do not stop mastering new things in order to provide them with useful and environmentally friendly vegetables, the cultivation of which requires minimal use of the resources of our land»

Hydroponics is an efficient method of growing plants without using soil. Plants are obtained all necessary for growth elements from a special nutrient aqueous solution. Thanks to this technology, plants develop 2-3 times faster, which allows increasing the harvest. Another advantage of this technology is the absence of weeds, pests, and plant diseases, which allows completely refusing from herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides. The consumption of water and mineral fertilizers is reduced by 95%, which will reduce the load on the natural resources of our community. As a result, the products are many times more ecologically clean than even from the garden.
