Wert, an Estonian crypto payment platform, raises $5M in seed funding

Wert, a Tallin-based crypto payment platform, has raised $5 million in seed funding. Londoner Tagus Capital led the round, ArcticStartup reports.

  • Founded in 2020 by George Basiladze, Wert is a top-up module that can be integrated into any website or mobile app and enables seamless purchasing of crypto.
  • Tagus Capital led the $5 million seed. It is a multi-strategy hedge fund from the UK. It combines venture capital investments with yield-generating strategies to enhance inefficient industries. Besides, the fund focuses on blockchain technology.
  • Apart from the lead, such investors as Tezos Foundation, VR Ventures, Element Ventures, Digital Horizon, and JDAC also participated in the funding.
  • The fresh funds will help the company expand geographically, as well as come up with new solutions for Web3 startups.
