Finland’s Resistomap secures €2M in funding for its biosecurity intelligence platform
Resistomap, a Helsinki-based biotech startup, has secured €2 million in seed funding led by Ananda Impact Venture and Gaingels, supported by Business Finland‘s grant. The round will help to advance their efforts in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
- Founded in 2018 by microbiologist and data scientist Dr. Windi Muziasari, Resistomap commercializes antibiotic resistance monitoring in the environment. The platform will integrate early-warning systems, genetic insights, predictive models, and tailored recommendations to curb AMR spread.
- Its database already contains over 10,000 environmental samples across 45 countries. The startup focuses on wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and expands into agri- and aquaculture industries, hospitals, long-term care facilities, pharmaceutical companies, food safety agencies, as well as public health authorities.
