Polish robotics startup Nomagic nabs $22M in Series A

Poland’s robotics startup Nomagic nabs $22 million to improve e-commerce warehouse logistics. Khosla Ventures and Almaz Capital co-led the Series A round, TechCrunch reports.

  • Founded in 2017 by Kacper Nowicki, Marek Cygan, and Tristan d’Orgeval, Nomagic is based in Krakow. It provides smart pick&place robotic solutions for order fulfillment in e-commerce warehouses.
  • The startup’s robotic arm employs artificial intelligence, which can identify and pick out any item from an unordered selection and then move or pack it into another place. The company already has many customers — Brack.ch is among the more prominent ones.
  • Khosla Ventures, a VC firm from the US, and Almaz Capital, an early-stage VC firm investing in information tech, co-led the Series A round. European Investment Bank, with past backers Hoxton Ventures, Capnamic Ventures, DN Capital, and Manta Ray, also participated.

“We come in early to support companies building promising technologies that are bold and impactful like Nomagic. We are excited by the momentum they have demonstrated with customers,”

Kanu Gulati from Khosla Ventures on the investment.
  • In February 2020, Nomagic closed its previous seed round at $8.6 million. With the latest investment, the startup has raised a total of $30,6 million.
  • The fresh funding will go toward growing and expanding the startup’s business.
