Darmstadt’s Energy Robotics raises €2M in seed funding

The German software provider for mobile AI-based robotics solutions has closed a €2 million seed funding round led by Earlybird Venture Capital. Business angels Paul Achleitner, Gerhard Roiss, Martin Klässner, and Andrej Henkler also participated.

Energy Robotics

Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of Darmstadt University of Technology, Energy Robotics is developing software solutions for mobile inspection robots. The company offers the first commercially available software platform that brings together a hardware-independent robot operating system, cloud-based fleet management, and AI-driven data analysis for industrial applications.

Mobile robots equipped with Energy Robotics software are used for remote inspection and monitoring in demanding environments such as the oil & gas, petrochemical, security and energy industries. The company cooperates with hardware partners ExRobotics and Boston Dynamics.

The raised capital enables the startup to further develop its SaaS solution and expand its product portfolio towards a platform economy and robot-as-a-service.
