Romanian startup Remote Butler raises €50k for its HoReCa application

Remote Butler, a Cluj-based startup that launched an application that allows orders to be taken in the native language of international guests, has raised investments worth over €50,000 in its first round. The fresh investment was led by several private investors.

• Remote Butler was founded in 2022 by the entrepreneur Ciprian Costea, It offers an application that allows orders to be taken in the native language of international guests. Remote Butler aims to help restaurants deliver a humanized dining experience by connecting them with online waiters for optimal recommendations.
• The startup also provides hospitality training and remote opportunities for middle-aged professionals and individuals with disabilities. Remote Butler’s app has already been tested by over 600 Romanian waiters.

I wanted Remote Butler to maintain the human experience in restaurants, in a context where artificial intelligence is increasingly present. We can use technology to make our work easier, to solve the needs of the industry, but also to come up with an inclusive component. Through our foreign-speaking waiters, the Remote Butler app allows orders to be taken in the native language of international guests. Our goal is to maintain the human experience in restaurants, thanks to waiters who will work remotely, even as the HoReCa industry faces staff shortages. Equally, we want to offer equal work opportunities and have disabled waiters in the team,

• The new investment saw participation from several angel investores, including: Luke McNeice, Florin Pop, Mihai Tarta, Mihai Talpos, Septimiu Pop, and Andrei Doibani. Additionally, the startup’s own investment of the app has already reached €40,000.

Using the fresh capital, Remote Butler plans to have a 100% functional start in 2024.
