Finland-based construction industry startup AISTI secures €1.6M

The Finnish construction industry startup AISTI has secured $1.6 million for sustainable acoustic tiles production. Maki.vc led the seed round, EU-Startups reports.

  • Founded in 2019 by Antti Fredrikson, Petri Jetsu, and Mikko Paananen, AISTI is developing wood fiber-based acoustic tiles that are carbon negative, easy to recycle, and plastic-free.
  • The startup helps the construction industry become more sustainable and reduce its carbon footprint without any cost impact. Several large architectural firms have already received and used the tiles.
  • Valve Ventures organized a group of investors to participate in the €1.6 million seed investment. Maki.vc, an early-stage venture capital firm partnering with deep tech & brand-driven companies, led the round.

“AISTI’s technology is ready and scalable quickly. There is a huge potential in carbon-negative and cost-competitive new building materials,”

Pirkka Palomäki commented on the funding.
  • The fresh funding will be used by AISTI to build a demo plant, product development, and the preparation of an investment for a large production plant.
